Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie also known as Andra is an American R&B, soul and singer/songwriter. The Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are just a few of the numerous awards she's earned. The singer was also selected for the Academy Award. Andra Day, an accomplished singer-songwriter with roots in blues and gospel music with a love of the current world. She is much not just an R&B throwback master. The ability she has to mix her influences of jazz, gospel and the blues into the R&B genre is impressive. Cheers to the Fall (2015) her debut album that was a huge success made it into the Top Ten of the R&B/hip-hop and opened the door to a handful of Grammy nominations, as well as one Academy Award nomination with Stand Up for Something (2017) her part in the soundtrack of Marshall getting both honors. Amen and the singles Make Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday all have singles that are creating anticipation ahead of the release of her second album. The actress was born Cassandra Monique Batie in Edmonds Washington Andra Day grew up within San Diego and its metropolitan region where she sang in churches and attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts. When she left the School of Performing and Creative Arts, andra Day began to focus on contemporary R&B and pop, but she soon discovered that her roots in soulful jazz were what she was most attracted to. An important break occurred after a show she performed was noticed by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently offered some of Day's songs to husband Stevie Wonder. Motown legendary Adrian Gurvitz connected Day and the veteran businessman in music. Day who was linked to Gurvitz and Jeffrey Evans Buskin Label Day was a viral YouTube star and later signed with Warner Bros. In 2012 Day came out with Forever Mine as her debut song on YouTube. This song was immediately heard on radio by many DJs. After signing in 2015 with Warner Bros. Records she began working on her debut album Cheers To The Fall with Adrian Gurvitz. The album featured Rise Up which has become an international music video for social justice campaigns. Day was nominated to win two Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Album. In 2019 she released her sophomore album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album about the life of the legendary jazz singer. Also, she appeared in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a film on Holiday. Andi Matichak is an American actress. Her debut came in the movie Halloween in the role of Allyson After appearing on various television shows, including Orange Is the New Black (Orange Is the New Black), 666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue), Blue Bloods and Orange Is the New Black. Andi Mattichak was born on May 3, 1994, in Framingham Massachusetts.
